The month of September 2021 saw Gloucester Rugby become the first English Premiership Rugby club to adopt the ONE Planet ONE Chance® Reusable Cup System at their home of Kingsholm Stadium, in association with Freemans Event Partners.
A match day visit to any of the bars at Kingsholm, and you’ll understand how Gloucester Rugby are using the scheme for the benefit of not only their club, but also for the Gloucester Rugby Foundation and also the environment. The point of sale looks amazing!
A reusable cup system for stadiums as well as festivals & events
Our reusable cup system provides the bar operators with a simple-to-use, consistent system for all the bars around the ground. Customers pay a £1 deposit on the price of their first drink, and can then either return the cup to a cup return point to get their £1 back or, better still, drop their cup into one of the many return bins around the stadium, to make a donation to the Gloucester Rugby Foundation. This charity does invaluable work in the local community and is a hugely worthwhile cause. At the same time, for every 1,000 cups that are returned to the bins, we plant a tree in the UK through our carbon-neutral tree planting initiative with SQSTR.
To maintain this consistent message and to communicate it to their customers, Gloucester Ruby’s signage includes the amount raised so far this season for the Gloucester Rugby Foundation, as well as stating how many trees have been planted so far this season as a result of the reusable cup system.
We’re sure that the ONE Planet ONE Chance® Reusable Cup System will prove to be a huge success at Kingsholm. More success stories to follow in due course, we’re sure!
